"... like a stone falling through water"
The above words refer to the way a wise person sets a goal or an aim. I spend a lot of time teasing out its varied level of meanings and each time I turn it over, it reveals something else.
The whole phrase goes something like this: A wise person sets and pursues their aim like a stone falling through water. It is most famously a line from "Sidhartha" by Hermann Hesse.
From this, I've discerned a working definition of wisdom:
1) Doing the right thing at the right time and in the right place
2) Having the patience to let unfold what is to unfold
3) Knowing when to take action and knowing when to wait.
What does this have to do with me professionally? Everything!
